TATTOO SPRAY®

A significant advancement in tattoo aftercare, offering the most hygienic, convenient, and efficient healing process.

Simple steps. Clear science when you want it.

CLEAN ➔

Wash with a fragrance-free, pH-balanced antibacterial or antimicrobial soap.

Rinse warm, then finish cool water.

Avoid green soap, alcohol wipes, tattoo finishers, balms, creams or oils.

Warm and cool water science

  • Warm water: loosens dried plasma, ink and lubricant; improves surfactant action; mild vasodilation improves clearance of waste.
  • Cool water: brief vasoconstriction reduces micro oozing and redness; calms nociceptors; leaves a stable, non weeping surface for film adhesion.

Why not green soap or alcohol wipes

  • Green soap is a prep cleanser with higher pH and often ethanol or fragrance. Not intended for repeated use on open skin.
  • Alcohol wipes and finisher sprays strip the acid mantle, raise TEWL and can interfere with ethanol based films.

Numbing residue

  • Remove any numbing product fully. Residual alcohols or emulsifiers can increase sting or disrupt the film.

DRY ➔

Pat dry thoroughly with a clean, disposable paper towel.

Do not rub.

Wait 1 to 2 minutes until the skin looks matte, then apply TATTOO SPRAY®.

Why pat and pause

  • Patting preserves the early fibrin network that supports keratinocyte migration.
  • Matte endpoint avoids dilution of the film. Over drying can raise TEWL and cause micro cracking.

SPRAY ➔

Hold the can 20 cm from the tattoo.

Apply a thin, even coat until the surface has a uniform sheen.

Allow to dry for 30 to 60 seconds.

Do not wrap, wipe, or combine with any other products including finishers, creams, oils, films or alcohol wipes.

How it works
  • Breathable film: solvent evaporates and leaves a micro perforated medical barrier that allows oxygen exchange while blocking contaminants.
  • Ethanol roles: antimicrobial action; quick evaporation for clean film formation; brief cooling; mild astringency to reduce weeping; improves even spread.
  • No stacking: balms, oils and waxes alter surface tension and block breathability which can lead to maceration and patchy curing.
  • Clothing: once set, wear clean, loose, breathable fabrics such as cotton or bamboo. Avoid tight synthetics that trap heat or moisture.
How much to use
  • Apply 2 to 3 light layers for durable coverage. Allow 1 minute between coats.
  • If the tattoo weeps, gently pat with a clean paper towel, then reapply a light coat to restore full coverage.
Why it might sting
  • Fresh micro abrasions, individual sensitivity, thinner skin sites and residual numbing can increase sting.
  • Sting should be mild and brief. If it persists, re clean, ensure a very light coat, and reassess technique.

REPEAT *

Wash off and reapply every 24 hours for up to 5 days.

Cycle: CLEAN ➔ DRY ➔ SPRAY ➔ REPEAT.

Do not mix with other aftercare products during this period.

Why leave it on for 24 hours
  • Inflammation window: the first 24 hours need a sterile, breathable barrier while platelets and immune cells stabilise the wound.
  • Moist healing: controlled humidity supports faster epithelial migration and reduces scabbing.
  • Barrier stability: daily reapplication resets cleanliness and film integrity without over occlusion.
Healing phases
  • Day 0 to 2 inflammation: the film protects while oxygen exchange continues.
  • Day 2 to 5 proliferation: keratinocyte migration and early collagen deposition benefit from balanced moisture and oxygen.
  • After day 5 maturation: functional closure is usually achieved, so the spray is no longer required.
Dry at day 2 or 3
  • A matte or slightly dry feel can be normal as plasma reduces.
  • Stop early only if the skin is sealed, not tender and not weeping. Otherwise continue to day 5.
  • When sealed or flaking starts, switch to a light, fragrance free lotion. Avoid petroleum or wax heavy creams.
If it gets wet
  • The film is not waterproof. After soaking or heavy sweat, re clean, pat dry and reapply.

NIGHT TIME HEALING.

Keep the film on overnight. Aim for a cool, clean, breathable sleep setup.

Best practice at night
  • Complete the full cycle within an hour before bed so the film is fully set.
  • Use clean cotton sheets. Avoid heat trapping fabrics.
  • Wear loose, breathable clothing over the area or leave uncovered if practical.
  • If fabric sticks, do not peel dry. Soak off with lukewarm water, then clean, dry and spray again.
  • On waking, if there is sweat build up or tackiness, repeat the cycle.

WHAT IS TATTOO SPRAY®...

A registered and certified medical device that forms a breathable protective barrier for clean healing.

Medical device status
  • Certified: CE and UKCA marks. Registered with MHRA, EUDAMED and FDA.
  • Why it matters: regulated for safety and performance. Designed for open skin and immediate post tattoo care.
  • Ethanol: antimicrobial during application, then evaporates to leave the protective film.
Medical grade vs medical device
  • Medical grade: high purity materials. Not necessarily certified for a specific medical use.
  • Medical device: formally tested and certified for a defined medical purpose. TATTOO SPRAY® is a medical device.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Why might it crumble
  • Over application: use light coats. Allow 60 to 90 seconds to set.
  • Incomplete prep: cleanse properly, then pat to matte before spraying.
  • Interaction with other products: remove numbing or finisher residues. Do not layer with balms or creams.
  • Not shaken: shake the can for at least 10 seconds before use.
  • Heat, humidity or friction: avoid tight clothing and high heat until fully set.
Sting on application
  • Mild and brief sting can occur on fresh work, sensitive areas or if numbing residues remain.
  • If sting persists, re clean, dry to matte, apply a lighter coat in short bursts.

THE SCIENCE OF CLEAN HEALING.

TATTOO SPRAY® applies clinical wound care principles to tattoo healing.

  • Oxygen matters: oxygen supports collagen synthesis and cell repair. The film is breathable so oxygen exchange continues while contaminants are blocked.
  • Moist wound healing: slightly moist conditions speed re epithelialisation and reduce scab formation compared with dry exposure.
  • Ethanol’s dual role: rapid antimicrobial action on contact, then evaporation leaves a clean surface and the protective film. Brief cooling and astringency reduce local irritation.
  • Why clingfilm fails: plastic wraps trap heat and exudate, reduce oxygen, and can raise bacterial risk. They also cause sweating and discomfort.
  • Polymer film advantage: micro perforated, flexible and transparent, protecting from friction and debris without adhesives.
  • Regulated and tested: each batch is chemically validated, microbiologically tested and biocompatibility assessed. CE, UKCA and FDA frameworks. Vegan, cruelty free and EU REACH compliant.

Why TATTOO SPRAY® is Superior at Every Step Unlike clingfilm, adhesive wraps, or other aftercare options, TATTOO SPRAY® brings a host of unmatched benefits:
